Frontier Permanent Magnet Generator (PMG) Overview

The Frontier PMG™ is a high-performance permanent magnet generator designed specifically for wind turbines, offering superior efficiency and durability compared to traditional Delco car alternator PMAs. This PMG is engineered to maximize power output with minimal input, making it an ideal choice for wind energy applications.

Key Operating Information:

• 266 RPM: Produces battery voltage.
• 506 RPM: Produces twice (2x) the battery voltage.
• 960 RPM: Produces four times (4x) the battery voltage.

This PMG is optimized to work best with:

• 9 Raptor Generation 4 Blades and Zinc Plated Hub.
• Falcon 80.5 Inch Diameter 3 Blade and Hub Set.

Note: For hydro, gas engine, and electric motor applications, the Hydro PMGs are recommended.

Advantages of Frontier PMG™ Over Delco Car Alternator PMAs:

• More Copper: Each Frontier PMG stator contains twice as much copper as any Delco style PMA, translating to more power.
• No Input Power Required: Unlike some modified alternators, Frontier PMGs require no input power to generate output.
• Thicker Aluminum Housing: Provides better cooling and durability with additional cooling fins and a pressed-in stator for proper alignment.
• Secure Mounting: The Frontier PMG has four mounting holes bolted tightly against the bracket, compared to only two in most PMAs.
• Heavy Duty Bearings: Frontier PMGs use two heavy-duty bearings, unlike the weaker rear bearing found in many alternators and PMAs.
• High-Grade Electrical Steel: Frontier PMGs use high-grade electrical steel optimized for efficient cooling, reducing heat buildup compared to low-grade, high-iron steel in other PMAs.
